Trust Yourself
When you were a child, you trusted your parents for guidance in life. As you got older you looked for guidance from friends, counselors, teachers, mentors, gurus, psychics, life coaches, phycologist, physiatrist, yoga teachers, preachers, priests, songs, movies and so on. Each one may have a set of guidelines or rules to live by to achieve peace, joy and love.
You can listen to and explorer their advice, but remember that it is their advice for YOUR life. You see, often times you already know what you need to do, you are just seeking confirmation and approval from others to make sure you are making the right decision.
Depending on who you ask, you may get various advice options that will have your head spinning and questioning yourself all over again. And sometimes even pull you further away from your own inner wisdom. Also know that most people will not tell you the truth, chances are that it is too rough to deliver and they may want to preserve their relationship with you or they just do not know as much as you do about yourself.
Eventually you will need to learn how to trust yourself. Yes this is going to be uncomfortable at first, so start small. Next time you are unsure about something don’t ask anyone for advice or approval, make a decision based on love for yourself and run with it. If you were your own best friend asking that same question or for advice, what would you say to your friend? Then follow your own advice.
Keep practicing it over and over until you become comfortable making your own decisions. After all no one knows you better than you know yourself. Eventually you will be confident in the choices that you make. Even if you stumble along the way and make a mistake that hurts you, learn from it, forgive yourself and let it go. That is how you grow.
